One mole is digging a hole. Can you see who else is helping out in the garden? Julia Donaldson’s whimsical rhymes and Nick Sharratt’s illustrations encourage children to read aloud and count along.

MyGreatestChild’s Review

One Mole Digging a Hole is a story full of funny rhymes, counting, and gardening. Each page is illustrated with attractive colorful pictures that hold the interest of even very young children. The humor of the rhymes is emphasized and strengthened by the images presented: we have snakes with garden rakes, bears picking pears, foxes filling boxes(with tomatoes), storks with garden forks, parrots pulling up carrots and even doves in gloves.

The book is especially useful as an aid to learning numbers as there is a numeral with each rhyme that matches the number of animals illustrated on the page.
